Jurrien Timber signs for Arsenal

Jurrien Timber, a Dutch international player, has signed a long-term contract with us after moving here from Ajax.

The Ajax team relied heavily on the 22-year-old defender, who made 121 senior appearances across all competitions during his time with the Amsterdam side. During his tenure with Ajax, the Amsterdam side won two league titles and a Dutch Cup.

Alongside his twin brother Quinten, who is a member of the Feyenoord squad that competes in the Eredivisie, Jurrien joined the Ajax youth programme in 2014.

The multi-talented player inked his first professional contract with Ajax in 2018, and he went on to make his senior team debut in March of 2020, when Ajax defeated SC Heerenveen by a score of 3-1.

Jurrien was selected to the Netherlands squad for both the UEFA Euro 2020 and the FIFA World Cup 2022. He made his senior team debut in June 2021, when the Netherlands played Scotland in a friendly and tied 2-2.

“Despite his young age, Jurrien has already accomplished a great deal in his career. In addition to the titles that he has won with Ajax, he has had multiple opportunities to experience what it is like to compete at important international tournaments. We are really excited to have Jurrien join the team and look forward to working with him.
