Jephthah Nana Kwame Elected as New TTAG President

Jephthah Nana Kwame the immediate past SRC president of Bia Lamplighter College of Education has been elected as the new Teacher Trainee Association of Ghana (TTAG) president for 2023-2024 academic year.

The election was held at Sefwi Wiawso College of Education on 11th February 2023. The association organized the exercise in accordance to its constitution. Other positions were also contested for, such as secretary, treasurer etc.

Jephthah Nana Kwame hails from Sefwi Kwamebikrom in the Bia West of the Western North Region. He is the immediate past SRC president of Bia Lamplighter College of Education and has also been through the ranks as far as academic leadership is concern.

Jephthah is the Treasurer for TTAG from 2022 till date, he is a NEC member and was the SRC president for his college. He was the health and dispensary prefect at Tepa SHS from 2017-2018 and also the president of writers and debaters’ club.

Jephthah Nana Kwame emerged the winner after obtaining 93 out of the total valid votes cast of 249 which represented 38.5%. In an interview with a member of his team, Mr. Sefah Phinehas who happens to be the brother of the new elected president, revealed how confident he was about his brothers success.

“I was highly optimistic that Jephthah was going to win. He has seen it all in terms of experience as a leader and he is a visionary, proactive, humble and hardworking leader. I believe he alone cannot do the work, he needs support from his executives, teacher trainees and the stakeholders to make TTAG great”. He said

The new TTAG president is level 400 teacher trainee of Bia Lamplighter College of Education in the Western North Region.
