I sacrificed my music career for Kumasi rappers – Flowking Stone

Rapper Kwaku Nsia Boama, better known by his stage name Flowking Stone, asserts that he gave up his career in order to advance the music industry in Kumasi, which is the capital of the Ashanti Region.

In an interview that aired over the weekend on Adom TV’s Showtime with Andy Dosty, the hitmaker behind the song “Fire Bon Dem” stated that he is the driving force behind the success of musicians located in Kumasi.

Flowking Stone said that when he was at the top of his career, he was given the chance to move to Accra, but he turned it down because “I wanted to prove them wrong.”

According to him, he did not want to be a part of the established quo, in which many Kumasi rappers who had achieved only a moderate amount of success rushed to Accra because “they wanted to make it huge.”

Since 2003 up until the present, all was about Kumasi. He said, “I was scheduled to relocate to Accra to compete with the major rappers, but I decided to stay in Kumasi to let them [young rappers] know that you can make it in Kumasi.” I was supposed to move to Accra to compete with the big rappers.
