The Ghana Union of Traders’ Associations (GUTA) has urged traders to adjust their prices immediately in reaction to the cedi’s recent appreciation.

In a statement, the union welcomed the cedi’s “significant gains” against major trade currencies.

They feel this will bring some relief to regular Ghanaians.

“We wish to appeal to the trading community to adjust prices of goods and services and bring some relief to the consuming public,” the statement issued by GUTA President Dr. Joseph Obeng said.

They underlined that the change will not only enhance market fairness, but also develop goodwill and confidence between traders and their customers.
