Dr. Gideon Boako, who serves as the spokesperson for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated that his boss is not seeking the presidency in order to gain riches.

During an interview on Citi TV’s Face to Face with Umaru Sanda Amadu, Dr. Boako mentioned that Dr. Bawumia is involved in politics not in order to get his hands on the public purse but rather to change the destiny of the country.

According to Dr. Boako, Dr. Bawumia is a unifier who will unite the NPP if elected as the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 elections. This prediction was made based on Dr. Boako’s observation.

Bawumia not seeking to be president to amass wealth

In terms of the development of new concepts and strategies for our political system, I believe that Dr. Bawumia has been the single most influential figure. A goal or an ideal that you feel connected to. Since politics has shifted towards a politics of ideas, you need leaders with a vision who have also done a good job of organising themselves and are committed to their cause.

You can see right through them to the fact that they are not involved in politics in order to increase their personal riches. However, they participate in politics in order to ensure that things run smoothly.

That was the Vice President trying to ensure that everything was carried out in an appropriate manner. “It’s clear that people look to him as a unifying force,” he emphasised.

Dr. Boako stated, in reference to the tribal cards that are being played by some of his competitors, that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) must capitalise on the gains it stands to accomplish in its strongholds if the Vice President is elected to lead the party in the 2024 elections. This was in reference to the fact that the Vice President is running for the position of party leader.

“The New Patriotic Party has a candidate who is not an Akan, and the advantage it brings to the party is that, while there will not be any motivation for an NPP supporter in the Akan area to say, “I won’t vote for Bawumia because he’s a Northerner, and I’m going to vote for a former President John Dramani Mahama who is also a Northerner,” “The New Patriotic Party has a candidate who is not an Akan,”

“In your strongholds, you have the ability to further solidify your victories. Then you abandon Dr. Bawumia and Mr. Mahama to fight it out in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) strongholds where they both originate.

Determine whether your candidate will have an advantage over the NDC in the areas that are most familiar to him and vote accordingly. This is where Dr. Bawumia’s considerable strengths come into play. To the benefit of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Bawumia has been able to wield a great deal of power in the North.
