Ghanaians react to Afua Asantewaa’s unsuccessful sing-a-thon attempt

On social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, opinions on Ghana's Afua Asantewaa's attempt at a singing marathon are divided.

This comes after Afua Asantewaa's effort to break the record for the longest singing marathon by an individual was declared “unsuccessful” by Guinness World Records (GWR), who also noted how “inspirational it has been for her fans”

Afua Asantewaa started her quest in December 2023 to surpass the record for the longest sing-a-thon by an individual, and she succeeded admirably—126 hours and 55 minutes later.

However, the Guinness World Records announced the Afua's attempt at setting a record on February 23. The statement read, “Unfortunately, Afua's attempt to set a record for the longest singing marathon was unsuccessful, but we hope that she will make another attempt.”
