Ghana Card Will be Used for Voting Soon – Ursula Owusu-Ekuful

Ghana Card Will be Used for Voting Soon

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Minister of Communication and Digitalization of Ghana, has urged Ghanaians who do not yet have the country’s National Identification Card (also known as the Ghana Card) to get one as soon as possible.

According to her, those who have made the conscious decision not to get a Ghana Card are doing so at their own risk since the Ghana Card will shortly be utilized for the national elections in Ghana. These elections will take place very soon.

During an interview on Kofi TV, Owusu-Ekuful lambasted the leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), whom she accused of encouraging Ghanaians not to register for the Ghana Card. Owusu’s comments  came after she claimed that the NDC leaders had encouraged Ghanaians not to register for the Ghana Card.

“When we were enrolling for the national card, NDC representatives pushed Ghanaians not to register for the card, alleging that they had boycotted it.” “When we were registering for the national card,”

“Some have registered, but others, including those who refer to themselves as the stubborn academy, are certain that they are not going to register for the card under any circumstances. These individuals say that this is their motto.

“They (the Electoral Commission of Ghana) would go for the data from the National Identification Authority,” she stated.
