According to the Ghana Education Service (GES), Form 2 students in senior high and senior high technical schools who use the transitional track system are eligible for an optional Easter break.

All Regional Directors of Education received a statement on April 11, 2025, stating that the break will start on Thursday, April 17, and run through Monday, April 21, 2025.

“Students should be given the opportunity to travel home and celebrate the Easter festivities with their families if they so choose,” the statement read.

GES explained that the break is not required. Students who decide to stay on campus are allowed to do so as long as they are properly supervised.

In order to swiftly resume academic activities, GES further said that all students who are scheduled to leave home must return to school on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

In order to give families and students flexibility over the Easter break without interfering with academic timetables, the shift was made.
