As a result of a decrease in available power generation brought on by the temporary closure of the Atuabo gas processing plant, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a timetable for the implementation of load-shedding across the entire country.
The reduction in available power supplies, which began on Thursday, March 30, will continue until Friday, April 7, 2023, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) issued a statement in which it explained that this is because “maintenance works are being carried out by the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) at Atuabo, [therefore] there is a shortfall in power generation.” In light of this, please find below a load management schedule that will be in effect from Thursday, March 30 to Friday, April 7, 2023, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
Each of the regions of Volta, Ashanti, Western, Eastern, and Central Ghana, as well as Greater Accra, will be impacted.
In its statement, the ECG made an impassioned plea to its clientele, saying, “We call on our customers to bear the inconvenience with us while the Ghana Gas Processing Plant undertakes this all-important maintenance activity.”
