Mahama prayed further, asking God to give Ghanaians the spirit to love one another as Christ loved the world.

Mr. Mahama begged God to grant Ghanaians the capacity for mercy and forgiveness.

Mr. Mahama prayed in a facebook message on April 7.“Happy Good Friday to all Ghanaians. As we commemorate this holy day, may the ultimate sacrifice of Christ who gave His life for our sake guide our journey on earth and instil in us the power of forgiveness and compassion”.

“May His redeeming blood fill us with hope, joy and peace, and inspire us to love one another as Christ loved us”.

Mahama pleaded with Ghanaians once more to allow their deeds to be a reflection of the Lord's suffering and love for the human race.

Mahama prayed, “May the love and compassion of our Lord's sacrifice for humanity be seen in our deeds.”

Christians all across the world celebrate Easter to recognize the atoning death of Jesus Christ and his victorious resurrection.
