Sean “Diddy” Combs has been accused of raping a woman as “payback” for suggesting he was involved in the murder of Tupac Shakur
Ashley Parham also says in a California lawsuit that the singer threatened to use a knife to cut her face in reprisal for her comments.
Although he has not yet addressed the accusations, Diddy has continuously refuted any sexual assault claims.
Additionally, he has previously denied any role in the 1996 drive-by shooting in Las Vegas that claimed the life of rapper Tupac Shakur.
Duane “Keffe D” Davis, a former gang member, was charged with murder last year, although the case has never been solved. Prior to the start of his trial in March 2025, Mr. Davis stated that Diddy had promised him $1 million (£769,000) in exchange for a hit on Shakur.
According to legal documents filed in California on Tuesday, Ms. Parham claims that she first came to Mr. Combs’ attention in 2018 when she met one of his associates at a bar.
Because Ms. Parham thought the rapper “had something to do with the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur,” she declined to participate in the friend’s “attempting to impress” video call to Diddy.
She says in the lawsuit that Diddy heard her remark and promised to “pay” for it.
After a month or so, the friend asked her to come to his house so she could help him with his cancer medication, and she says Diddy showed up out of the blue.
According to Ms. Parham, the rapper then came up to her “with a knife and held it to the right side of [her] face and threatened to give her a ‘Glasgow smile’ in retaliation for her previous statements.”
Diddy accused of ‘revenge’ rape over Tupac claims
Then, according to the documents, Diddy “violently” assaulted her while tearing off her clothes with a television remote control.
Diddy is accused of telling her during the incident that her life was in his hands and that she would never be seen again if he so desired.
According to Ms. Parham, she was raped by several people “until eventually, she had no control over her body nor could she move her body.”
When Ms. Parham finally attempted to flee, Mr. Combs stopped her and offered her money in exchange for her claiming the rape was consensual.
The lawsuit claims that while she was being shot at, she fled to her neighbors for assistance. When they heard the commotion next door, they had already contacted the police.
Ms. Parham claims that after informing the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department that Mr. Combs and his friends had gang-raped her, nothing was done about it.
Three weeks after her hospital stay, staff contacted the local police. Ms. Parham asserts that neither of her police reports resulted in an inquiry, though.
She is demanding a jury trial and is suing Mr. Combs and six other individuals for wrongful detention, maltreatment, sexual assault and battery, and kidnapping.
In addition to requesting a reaction from his co-defendants, the BBC has reached out to his attorneys for comment.
Mr. Combs might spend the rest of his life behind bars for the charges against him.
In the past year, Combs has been the target of over a dozen allegations of rape, sexual assault, and physical abuse, the most recent of which being Ms. Parham’s case.
In fresh York alone, six fresh complaints were filed Monday, including claims that he assaulted a 16-year-old kid in his mansion during a party.
Legal representatives for the celebrity responded to those cases by telling the BBC that Mr. Combs “has never sexually assaulted anyone – adult or minor, man or woman.”
Additionally, they have characterized earlier lawsuits as “clear attempts to garner publicity” and a “money grab.”
While awaiting trial on federal criminal accusations of sex trafficking and racketeering, Mr. Combs is presently being held at a prison facility in New York.
In anticipation of the trial, which is provisionally set to start on May 5, 2025, his attorneys filed a motion on Tuesday asking for the identities of his accusers.
They said the numerous unnamed charges made against Mr. Combs had been “irreparably damaging” to his “character and reputation.”
“If not already, these circulating accusations have produced a hysterical media circus that, if unchecked, will irreparably deny Mr. Combs a fair trial,” the motion stated.
Citing the “horrific” conditions he endures in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, the music mogul’s attorneys have also advocated for his release on bail.
He might potentially intimidate witnesses, prosecutors have retorted.
The musician, who was a major producer in the hip-hop industry of the 1990s, is well-known for his collaborations with Notorious B.I.G. on songs like Juicy and Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems, as well as his solo hits like I’ll Be Missing You.
On Tuesday, he took the unprecedented step of wishing his two-year-old daughter a happy birthday on Instagram from behind bars.
