The manager of Ghanaian highlife icon Dada Kweku Duah, also known as Dada KD, has revealed the terrible circumstances that led to his demise.

Clarence Kenneth Ekow Peterson, also known as King Pee in showbiz circles, stated during an appearance on Adom FM morning news that Dada KD was turned away by three hospitals due to a lack of physicians.

Although King Pee did not specify these hospitals, he did state that Dada KD was eventually admitted to a facility in Gbawe.

Unfortunately, he was proclaimed dead immediately after a doctor arrived and treated him.

The renowned artist, widely known for timeless tunes such as Fatia Fata Nkrumah, is claimed to have died around 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, while on oxygen.

He was 56.

When asked if the late singer was sick, King Pee stated that he had moderate malaria symptoms earlier in the day but had stayed quite steady.

His condition, however, deteriorated rapidly, necessitating an immediate transfer to surrounding hospitals.

“We did all we could. He was strong in the morning, but things changed rapidly. “Sadly, he did not survive,” King Pee informed Baffour Owiredu Amoh.

The actual cause of death has yet to be established by medical authorities.

Dada KD’s distinguished career spans decades, and his beautiful vocals, soulful melodies, and tragic lyrics have touched deeply with Ghanaians of all ages.

His death leaves a vacuum in the highlife community and the hearts of music fans all across the world.

Tributes have already begun flooding down from across the creative world, with fans and fellow musicians expressing shock and grief over the unexpected passing.
