CLOGSAG declares nationwide strike on Nov. 7

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has declared a nationwide strike, beginning Thursday, November 7, 2024.

This followed a notice filed on October 23, 2024, over what the association described as a significant delay in completing a wage structure for personnel, which will be adopted on January 1, 2025.

According to the Association, the proclamation coincides with the expiration of the government’s October 31 deadline to meet their demands.

The association stated in a statement that despite many discussions since then, the government has yet to present a concrete offer.

As a result, they have opted to avoid dealing with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), which has operated in bad faith.

“As a result of the delay in the completion of salary structure and other conditions of service of CLOGSAG members have no other option than to stay at home from November 7, 2024,” the statement’s headline said.
