Nana Kwame Bediako, a business entrepreneur and presidential hopeful, contributed GH¢50,000 to help traders injured by the recent fire at Kantamanto Market in Accra.
Nana Kwame Bediako, the leader of the New Force Movement, donated GH¢50,000 in sympathy with the victims of the recent Kantamanto Market fire.
Bediako went to the disaster site on Friday, January 3, 2025, and saw the carnage firsthand.
He promised to spearhead efforts to reconstruct the market for the impacted traders, in addition to providing cash help.
“I’ve started raising donations for them. “I came here with GH¢50,000 as a token, and we will work together to rebuild the market,” Bediako told the press in Kantamanto.
He also urged Ghanaians to join the relief efforts, encouraging everyone to help the impacted traders in whatever manner they could. “Ghanaians, I plead with you, whatever you have, bring it and let’s support the traders who were affected by the fire,” he told the crowd.
Despite the tragic loss, some traders have already begun preparing the site for the reconstruction of their businesses, exhibiting their tenacity in the face of disaster.
