Everyone who has even heard the term “ChatGPT” in the months after its November 2017 release will be aware of how strong and capable the huge language model-based AI generator is. Microsoft has announced that sometime next week, they will make GPT-4-based programs available to the general market. This is huge if you’re even somewhat interested in artificial intelligence or applications that use it.
What is GPT-4.
Generative Pre-trained Transformer, also known as GPT, is essentially an autoregressive language model that uses text input to produce human-like writing using a deep learning model.
Microsoft stated that ChatGPT-4 would be released the next week. It will make ChatGPT-3 seem silly.
The third iteration or generation of the generatively pre-trained transformer was known as GPT-3. The ability of AI bots to comprehend and produce content based on text accounts for the majority of the differences in the encounters.
AI bots’ ability to interpret natural language improved dramatically with GPT-3, enabling them to produce visuals and text that were actually a lot closer to the text prompt than ever before.
Users will be able to convert text to video using GPT-4 and the next GPT-4 upgrade from OpenAI, but that’s not all. Also, it will significantly enhance GPT-3’s functionality and speed up current GPT-3-based applications.
Microsoft Germany’s CTO, Andreas Braun, reportedly stated at an AI event on Thursday that the company will soon incorporate GPT-4 into the majority of its AI-based applications and will shortly launch GPT-4 to the public for a demo.
For those who don’t know, Microsoft has made significant investments in OpenAI, the software startup that introduced and published GPT-3 and ChatGPT.
Why is GPT-4 superior to GPT-3?
According to experts, GPT-4 and its capabilities will make ChatGPT seem like a crude joke. Compared to GPT-3, GPT-4 has a considerably superior modality, making it much more capable of operating with both words and visuals. On the basis of textual clues, GPT-4 will also be able to produce videos.
The Microsoft-backed startup’s GPT-4 will have new features like multimodality, video processing, and the ability to create AI-generated films from simple text prompts. ChatGPT and other GPT-3.5-powered solutions can only currently offer text-based responses.
GPT-4 may be able to address ChatGPT’s problem with a slow response time to user-generated queries in addition to its multimodal features.
Moreover, GPT-3 and GPT-3.5-based chatbots frequently hallucinated, that is, they delivered incorrect responses while vehemently defending them. It appears that GPT-4 will address this problem as well and lessen these AI bots’ susceptibility to hallucinations.
What about the AI from Google and Meta?
Both Google and Meta have their own AI models. For example, ChatGPT is powered by LaMDA, and Google’s AI bot Bard is an experimental conversational AI service. Contrarily, PyTorch, an open-source machine learning framework we created alongside the AI community and is now a part of the Linux Foundation, powers Meta’s AI.
Both Google Bard and Meta’s AI can produce both text and videos, making them comparable to GPT-4. The findings that these bots provide are not entirely correct, however, as a result of very obvious flaws in both of their AI models.
Do you recall when Google’s Bard AI was demonstrated and provided a false result? That, however, caused Google’s stock to drop by $100 billion. Just consider how terrible it would have been if the demo had included a video generating component.
