The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has authorised Accra Sports Stadium as a venue for this year’s interclub games.

With the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi now being renovated, Ghana’s representatives in the 2025/26 CAF competitions, Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars, will play their home games in the capital.

FA Cup winners Kotoko have been drawn against Nigeria’s Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup, while Premier League champions GoldStars will face Algeria’s JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League.

Both Ghanaian clubs will kick off their seasons on September 19 and 21, with the return legs slated for September 26 and 28 away from home. Kotoko will fly to Nigeria, while GoldStars will travel to Algeria for the final.

CAF’s most recent inspection revealed that, despite not fully matching international standards, the Accra Sports Stadium has been granted provisional license to hold preliminary-round matches for both competitions in September.
