2024 Grammys: Burna Boy’s performance ranked 6th by Billboard despite no award

During his first-ever Afrobeats performance at the Grammys on Sunday, February 4, Nigerian Afrobeats musician Burna Boy put on an incredible show.

Rapper 21 Savage and Grammy-winning R&B legend Brandy provided support for the captivating tune “Sittin’ on Top of the World,” which the Nigerian musician used to captivate the crowd.

Despite losing all four of his nominations, his incredible performance propelled him to the sixth place in Billboard’s Grammy performance rankings.

Burna Boy went all out for his first Afrobeats performance at the Grammy Awards, according to Billboard.

Billboard claims that Burna Boy’s contagious enthusiasm and effortless charm would fit right in with a Hollywood musical.

The worldwide publication also praised the three singers’ stage and costume designs, noting that their “distinct styles came to mind an MGM golden era musical.”

Burn Boy did not win an award despite earning four nominations but his performance has solidified his recognition as a global music force.
