Ofori-Atta to meet Parliament ahead of mid-year budget review

Today, July 28, the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, is scheduled to have a lengthy discussion with members of Parliament in preparation for the presentation of the mid-year budget review the following week.

It is planned that the presentation of the budget review for the first half of the year will take place on Monday, July 31, 2023.

At the event, steps to promote economic growth and stability are going to be discussed, and it is anticipated that these plans will be brought to light.

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, requested that the members of parliament make themselves available so that they may contribute to the midyear assessment of the budget.

He continued by saying, “Basically, it will be focusing on the welfare of the country because we are going to deal with financial matters and statutory funds before the final presentation on Monday, and I hope you will talk to your colleagues who are not here now to avail themselves to make inputs into what we are going to discuss with the Finance Minister.”

The date that was supposed to be set for the presentation of the budget had been moved around numerous times. Even though the new date was supposed to be Tuesday, July 25, it was moved to Thursday, and then it was moved again to July 31.
