Billie Eilish accuses Variety of ‘outing’ her in cover story

After accusing a magazine of “outing” her, Billie Eilish has urged people to stop talking about her sexuality.

The singer of Bad Guy revealed in a recent cover interview for US publication Variety that she was drawn to women. And Billie was asked on camera if she had intended to come out at the magazine’s Hitmakers Awards over the weekend.

Billie then thanked Variety in a sarcastic manner for “outing” her rather than “talking about anything else that matters.”

Billie appeared cheerful during the Saturday red carpet interview, but her Instagram post wasn’t exactly laid back.

“Thanks, Variety, for my award and also for outing me on a red carpet at 11 a.m. instead of talking to me about anything else that matters,” she tweeted.

“I like boys and girls. Leave me alone about it, please. Literally, who cares?”

Billie talks about being a young woman in the spotlight and how she’s been scared by other women in the magazine interview, which was initially published on November 13.

According to the 21-year-old, “I’ve never really felt like I could relate to girls very well,” Variety was told.

“I adore them a lot. As people, I adore them. As people, they draw me in. I really am drawn to them.”

After winning Film Song of the Year, Billie Eilish and FINNEAS take the stage at Variety Hitmakers. Billie, a 21-year-old woman, sports a pink beanie hat with a green, yellow, and red star on the front. She’s dressed in a blue zip-front jacket and thick-rimmed clear glasses. With strawberry blonde hair and a short beard, Finneas faces his sister rather than the camera. He’s wearing a black jumper with stripes the color of camel next to the arms.

During the weekend’s red carpet event, she was questioned about her sexual orientation and responded, “I didn’t realize people didn’t know.”

Billie Eilish did, however, express her disbelief in the idea of “coming out” and the requirement that someone disclose their sexual orientation.

Billie Eilish said, “Why can’t we just exist?” “I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it.”

Billie Eilish accepted Barbie’s award for Film Song of the Year for What Was I Made For, alongside her brother and collaborator Finneas.
