Big Scarr Biography

Alexander Woods, an American rapper who used the alias Big Scarr, was born on April 7, 2000, and he died on December 22, 2022. Woods, a Memphis, Tennessee native, had a record deal with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records label prior to his death.

The song that garnered the most attention for him was “SoIcyBoyz,” which also includes Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, and Tay Keith. He released “Big Grim Reaper,” his first mixtape released under his own name, on April 16, 2021. The album peaked at number 25 on the Billboard 200, which was its highest rank. On December 22, 2022, Woods passed away.

Big Scarr Early Years

Big Scarr was born on April 7, 2000, and spent his formative years in South Memphis’ Magnolia area. He is the youngest of eight children. He lived with his grandma initially, until the year he turned 13 and she went away. When Woods was 16 years old, he was involved in an automobile accident that caused him to be thrown through the glass of a friend’s car.

The “Scarr” in his stage name refers to the scars he sustained in the collision, which he said served as the basis for the moniker.

Big Scarr Career

Big Scarr didn’t always have a great passion for rap music, but with the help of his buddy and bandmate Baby K, he finally developed one. 2019 saw the debut of his song “Make a Play,” which swiftly accumulated 50,000 views on the video-sharing platform YouTube.

Tommy Craze, a YouTube user, took notice as well and referenced the music in one of his response videos. He recalls spending $20 on his debut song’s recording and $200 on the music video that accompanied it. He joined the 1017 Records label run by American rapper Gucci Mane in the year 2020, which is distributed by Atlantic Records.

Big Scarr released the song “SoIcyBoyz” in 2021, which also included his cousin Pooh Shiesty and the American rapper Foogiano. His climb to prominence started with this. The two next novels in the series, “SoIcyBoyz 2” and “SoIcyBoyz 3,” have also been published by him. The producer Tay Keith is featured on both the second and third parts, and Gucci Mane is featured on the third part.

On April 16, 2021, Big Scarr issued his debut mixtape, Big Grim Reaper. The mixtape sold 22,000 copies in its first week of release and peaked at number 25 on the Billboard 200 list. As a result, Big Scarr’s debut album made it to the charts.

The mixtape featured cameos by the rappers Gucci Mane, Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, Tay Keith, and Enchanting. Baby K also made a contribution to the endeavor.

The deluxe edition of his mixtape Big Grim Reaper, which he published in February 2022, was titled Big Grim Reaper: The Return. The rappers Offset, Gucci Mane, and Queez Ruthless made cameo appearances on it.

In June of that year, he was chosen to be part of the 2022 XXL Freshman class. He then took part in a cypher, where he performed his freestyle with rappers Nardo Wick, KenTheMan, and Big30.

Big Scarr would appear as a special guest on American rapper Key Glock’s Glockoma Tour; it was revealed in December 2022.

Big Scarr Cause of Death

Big Scarr described his father as his “best buddy” during an interview with Our Generation Music. In the year 2020, Woods was hit in the hip by a gunshot.

In addition to the original injury, the bullet’s passage through Woods’ back and up to his spine necessitated surgery to remove his appendix and straighten his right leg. On December 22, 2022, Woods passed away suddenly from a heroin overdose.
