After defeating Heart of Lions 2-1 in a thrilling Matchday 21 match, Bibiani GoldStars have returned to the top of the Ghana Premier League standings.

When GoldStars played at home at DUN’s Park on Tuesday, they quickly established their supremacy. The hosts took an early lead as Samuel Attah Kumi opened the scoring in the fifteenth minute.

GoldStars kept up the pressure, and they were given a penalty shortly before halftime. They doubled their lead when Gideon Anaba boldly stepped up and converted from the spot.

Nana Oppong gave Heart of Lions a response in the 61st minute as they battled back in the second half.

They tried, but were unable to produce an equaliser, and GoldStars managed to hold on for the vital victory.

With 44 points from the win, Bibiani GoldStars now lead the table, while Heart of Lions are still in third place with 40 points.

While Heart of Lions are ready to host Asante Kotoko at the Kpando Sports Stadium this weekend, GoldStars will now focus on their next matchup against Dreams FC at the Tuba Astroturf.
