‘Better Than Messi’ Ghanaians React to Afriyie Barnieh’s Performance Against Switzerland

Many Ghanaians on social media have expressed their admiration for Daniel Afriyie Barnieh’s performance in the friendly match against Switzerland.

Afriyie Barnieh received a lot of acclaim from Ghanaians for his performance against Switzerland.

The Hearts of Oak attacker was a last-minute addition to Otto Addo’s 26-man roster for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. On Thursday, he was given a starting role against the Swiss in a match that was quite unusual for him.

The young player, who is now 21 years old, was first used on the right side of an attacking three that also included Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew. Together, they offered assistance to striker Inaki Williams.

Barnieh got off to a terrific start in the match, tormenting the Swiss defense while also serving as an offensive spark for the Black Stars.

After being pulled down within the penalty area, he took the first shot on goal for Ghana and should have been awarded a penalty, but the referee decided to let play continue instead.

Ghanaians have rushed to social media to applaud the Hearts of Oak player for his performance in the match against the Swiss. Ghanaians heaped praises of the Hearts of Oak star’s performance against the Swiss.
