Official: Bayern confirm that Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidžić are sacked with immediate effect

Bayern Munich, after a stunning comeback on Saturday to win the Bundesliga title, announced that they have parted ways with CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic. The news was confirmed by the club.

Jan-Christian Dreesen, who is now serving as the board’s vice chairman, will succeed Kahn as chairman. The person who will succeed Salihamidzic has not been chosen yet.

Kahn, who played for Bayern and Germany throughout his legendary playing career as one of the all-time best goalkeepers, was named to the board of directors of FC Bayern Munchen AG on January 1, 2020.

The following summer, he succeeded Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as CEO of the club, which he had played for during his playing career. During that time period, the record champions won three crowns in the Bundesliga, one in the UEFA Champions League, one in the UEFA Super Cup, and one in the German Supercup.
