We’ve created 2.6m jobs, more than any previous govt – Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, has praised the Akufo-Addo administration’s job creation efforts, noting that they exceeded prior governments.

Dr. Bawumia used data from the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) and other sources to show that the government had produced roughly 2.6 million jobs, with 1.4 million in the private sector and 1.2 million in the public sector.

He noted that this achievement demonstrates the government’s commitment to developing Ghana’s economy and increasing opportunities for its inhabitants.

While admitting the current economic issues, Dr. Bawumia promised the public that if elected in December, he will work to create even more jobs.

“Over the past seven years, we have made significant progress in employment creation.I studied the data from SSNIT and other sources, and the most recent data shows that between 2017 and 2024, we produced 2.6 million employment.

“1.4 in the private sector; 1.2 in the public sector. This is the highest level of job creation by any government in the Fourth Republic. We have much to do because unemployment is high. “Our youth still need jobs,” Bawumia remarked during his engagement with the youth in Accra on Sunday, November 3.
