Bawumia Favorite Over Mahama Ahead of Election 2024 – UK Research Group

Research from the United Kingdom indicates that Bawumia will be the next president of Ghana over Mahama.

A study conducted by Information and Assessment Research, which is situated in the United Kingdom, discovered that, in spite of the current state of the global economy, a greater number of Ghanaians trust Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia than they do former President John Mahama in 2024.
Researchers from the Research Consortium in the UK came to their conclusion by looking at the answers they got from a sample of 254,759 eligible voters in Ghana.

When asked who they would vote for in the next elections in 2024 between Dr. Bawumia and former President Mahama, 56% of the 254,759 potential voters said they would vote for Dr. Bawumia. The remaining 46% said they would vote for former President Mahama.

On the other hand, it was discovered that a large percentage of Ghanaians are still on the fence regarding which candidate they will support in the upcoming election. This category of voters, which accounts for as much as 19% of the total, believes that the NPP and the NDC are essentially the same party, and, as a result, they abstained from voting.

Putting aside the actual candidates, the prospective voters were questioned regarding the political parties they would support. 41% of respondents selected NPP because they considered that, despite COVID-19 and the conflict in Ukraine, they were better able to manage the economy. 35% of respondents believed that the NDC would perform better in terms of the economy, but that this would be contingent on who they chose as their presidential candidate.

However, 24% of those polled said they will not vote because they believe the NPP and the NDC are the same party..
The Information and Assessment Research also acted out hypothetical scenarios, such as asking whether Trade Minister John Alan Kojo Kyerematen would be appointed.

In response to the question, “Will you trust Alan Cash as President?” 41% said yes; 37% said no. 22 percent of respondents responded that they would not vote at all if the NPP picked him.

Furthermore, the economy, corruption, and free secondary education are among the top three issues that Ghanaians will consider when voting.

“What issues would you consider fundamental to vote on if elections were held today?”31% cited the economy, 33% cited corruption, and 31% cited free high school education, while 5% cited other factors.

Information and Assessment Research is an independent organization that now operates in 17 African nations.
