An incident of shooting occurred on the campus of Seventh Day Adventist SHS in Bantama, Ashanti Region, on Friday, April 4, 2025, resulting in the severe injuries of two students.

The incident took place during break time when Bernard Amoabeng, a form two student, brought a gun to school, according to reliable sources within the Adventist SHS.

The students reportedly engaged in a heated argument regarding the weapon’s functionality.

Two students were unintentionally shot and injured when Amoabeng allegedly discharged the firearm to establish its authenticity.

Penamang was critically wounded by a gunshot to the cranium. Initially, she was transported to Kwadaso Hospital; however, her condition necessitated the referral to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

As a result of Amoabeng’s detention, the Suame Police have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
