Asante Kotoko’s top management and players paid tribute to departed supporter Francis Frimpong, aka Nana Pooley, during his one-week celebrations in Kumasi yesterday.
Pooley died after being stabbed during a matchday 19 match against Nsoatreman two weeks ago in Nsoatre.

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Nana Apinkra, Technical Director Kwasi Appiah, and certain members of the backroom staff and players were present to express their condolences to the sad family.

Some Ghana Premier League clubs, including Bechem United and Hearts of Oak, as well as other Ghanaian football stars, attended the sorrowful ceremony.

The Ghana Football Association issued new security and matchday standards for clubs to follow, and the Ghana Premier League was also halted in the aftermath of the tragedy.
