The Ghanaian forward, Asamoah Gyan, expects to prove himself whenever offered the chance to play for his country against Uruguay in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Gyan has featured for the Black Stars in three different World Cups and is hoping to play in his fourth when the team travels to Qatar. Ghana has been drawn into Group H with Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.
The game against Uruguay has huge significance for Ghana and Gyan. The striker missed a vital penalty that would have secured Ghana’s spot in the semi-finals of the competition for the first time for any African team.
Addressing the BBC, Gyan has expressed that he will be hoping to show off his abilities whenever offered the chance.
“Ghanaians need vengeance [against Uruguay]. That’s the Ghanaian inspiration. I’ve been in the game for quite a while. Individuals outside realize what has occurred. The entire world realizes what occurred. At the point when the draw was made and they saw Uruguay was in Ghana’s group, the main thing that came to the top of the priority list was revenge. It’s something typical, “he said.
“Ghanaians need revenge. Actually, I just sat back and I just grinned on the grounds that I comprehend how the game goes. Things occur.
