Archbishop Duncan Williams, a renowned Ghanaian clergyman, has received his first Ghana Movie Awards nomination.
Archbishop Duncan Williams was nominated for the cameo Actor category. The nomination comes ahead of the awards event, which will take place on December 24 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The Ghana Movie Awards is a significant event in the Ghanaian film industry that recognises and celebrates great achievements in filmmaking.
The nominations list includes a diverse group of brilliant actors, actresses, directors, and producers who have made major contributions to Ghana’s film industry during the past year.
There will be 21 awards given out in categories such as Achievement in Cinematography, Directing, Editing, Costume and Wardrobe, Production Design, and Sound Mixing and Editing.
The other categories are Achievement in Writing Original or Adapted Screenplay, Best Short Films, Best Documentary, Best African Movie Collaboration, Best Picture, and Cameo Actor.
Kwadwo Nkansah, Lilwin, James Gardiner, Adjetey Anang, Anthony Woode, and Jeffery Nortey are among the nominees for the competitive category of Actor in a Leading Role.
Nadia Buari, Jackie Appiah, Bless Fortune, Nana Ama McBrown, Emelia Brobbey, and Habiba Sinare are the nominees for Actress in a Leading Role.
Actors in a Supporting Role nominations include John Dumelo, Kofi Adjorlolor, Van Vicker, Majid Michel, and Clement Bonney (Mr Beautiful).
Sonia Ibrahim, Roselyn Ngissah, Sandra Ababio, Christabel Ekeh, Tracy Boakye, Kalsoume Sinare, Maame Ofosuah Anim, Sika Dzuali, and Chichi Neblett are the nominees for Actress in a Supporting Role.
Rosemond Brown (Akuapim Poloo), Frank Ntiamoah, Mawena Azumah, Martina Dwamena (Asantewaa), Sherita Adu, Quesh, and Augustina Aboabo will compete for the Discovery of the Year award.
According to Phred Nuamah, CEO of the Ghana Movie Awards, this year’s ceremony will be an amazing night of glamor, entertainment, and recognition of excellence in Ghanaian cinema.

The Ghana Movie Awards were created in 2010, with the first edition hosted on December 25 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
