Meeting with Ken Agyapong over ‘showdown’ claim was positive – Afenyo Markin

Alexander Afenyo Markin, the Spokesperson for the Elections Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has revealed that on Tuesday, the committee conducted productive discussions with flagbearer aspirant Kennedy Agyapong about his viral showdown comment that was made during the special delegates meeting.

Mr. Afenyo-Markin pointed out that the committee was successful in its interactions with all nine of the other candidates for the party’s presidential nomination in Accra.

“This was a very productive meeting for both of us. A few of the agents came forward with their own reports on particular occurrences and circumstances in which they encountered some challenges, and they were given the opportunity to provide us with a comprehensive report on what took place.

According to what he shared with Umaru Sanda Amadu during an interview on Eyewitness News broadcast on Citi FM, “We are going to meet some other members again on Thursday.”

Mr. Afenyo-Markin continued by saying, “We also had the opportunity to meet with one of the aspirants who made certain statements that went viral, and we had a positive engagement with him. And I have to confess that everything looks nice to me so far.

“We should be meeting again on Thursday, and once we’re finished on Thursday, the committee should come out and make its conclusion known to you. “We should be meeting again on Thursday. But things are looking up; everything is going according to plan, and we are grateful to them for cooperating thus far.

At the meeting were Kennedy Agyapong, Kwadwo Poku, Frederick Oware representing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Nana Ohene Ntow for Alan Kyerematen, and Kenwood Nuworsu for Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.

The purpose of the meeting was to provide the committee with the chance to hear concerns about the conduct of the special delegates’ conference and to search for measures to remedy such concerns.
