Advance level of Ghana Jobs and Skills Project Training

The Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) has been making significant progress in preparing young people with the necessary skills and funding for entrepreneurship through the Ghana Jobs and Skills Project.

Madam Habiba Sumani, the Regional ManagerĀ for GEA in the Western North Region, and Nana Agyemang Duah, Chief of Odumasi Mampong-Ashanti and Fontonfromhene of Mampong Traditional Area and also the head of Business Advisory Centre (BAC) in the Bibiani/Anhwiaso/Bekwai municipality, have been at the forefront of this initiative, along with other key figures in the Western North Region.

The Advance Level Training, the final phase of the programme, is currently underway, having commenced on July 24, 2023, and will continue until August 11, 2023.

Mr Lawrence Ntow Kwarfo, an experienced facilitator, and Mr Theophilus Amankwaah, the Training Coordinator from MGA Consulting Ghana have played instrumental roles in guiding the participants through this advanced training.

Madam Habiba Sumani and Nana Agyemang Duah spoke passionately about the project’s impact, expressing their commitment to empowering the youth in the region.

They emphasised the merging of selected participants from the intermediate batch in the Bibiani/Anhwiso/Bekwai district with champions from the Sefwi Wiawso District for the advanced training.

This decision not only optimised resources but also facilitated Entrepreneurship Training and Start-up Grants for 50,000 young people.

The collaboration between the Ghana Enterprises Agency and the World Bank has been pivotal in ensuring the success of the Ghana Jobs and Skills Project. With financial support and technical expertise from the World Bank, the initiative has become a driving force for state stability, social cohesion, and economic inclusion in Ghana.

The training has been well received by the participants, who have expressed their gratitude to all the leaders involved. Notably, the presence of two successful entrepreneurs, Madam Ruth Mintah (Rutab Creation and Bridals) and Mr Kwadwo Francis Mensah, from the fashion department, has provided invaluable insights and inspiration to the trainees.

Additionally, the contributions of Shadrack Annang and Enock Osei, who work under the Business Advisory Centre (BAC), have further enriched the training experience.

As the programme enters its final week, the enthusiasm and dedication of both the participants and the leaders remain unwavering.

The Ghana Jobs and Skills Project is on track to achieve its goals of empowering the youth with practical skills and funding to establish their own businesses, fostering economic growth and prosperity for the nation.

With continued support from the commitment of leaders like Madam Habiba Sumani, Nana Agyemang Duah, Mr Lawrence Ntow Kwarfo, and Mr Theophilus Amankwaah and other Leaders, the Ghana Jobs and Skills Project is set to leave a lasting impact on the lives of thousands of young people and contribute to the overall development and stability of Ghana.
