The actress, who also founded Goop, posted a few pictures and videos on Thursday showing her and her son Moses, 17, and daughter Apple, 19, enjoying the family holiday.
The first clip displayed a peaceful fire flickering in a fireplace; the next two showed Moses at a piano, a beautifully decorated autumn table, and a well-stocked charcuterie board.
The 51-year-old actress continued to share pictures of herself and Apple sporting matching hair ribbons, Moses looking sharp in a tuxedo, and a video of their Thanksgiving meal set with the remark, “Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!” Love and blessings to you and your family.”
In a humorous remark, the Oscar winner said, “I didn’t cook this, but it looks like I did,” next to a picture of herself in front of a table full of food.
In an edition of Vogue’s 73 Questions series last month, Paltrow answered questions from the audience and gave some exclusive information about her experience becoming a mother.
She gestured to her heart and said, “How much love there is in this thing,” in response to the question of what has surprised her the most about being a mother.
She was later questioned about the characteristics that she passes on to her children, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Chris Martin.
“I think Moses got his deliberation from me and Apple and her sense of humour,” Paltrow replied.
Paltrow discussed her experience as a stepmother to husband Brad Falchuk’s two teenage children, Brody and Isabella, in an August Instagram Q&A, stating, “I did find it really hard at first.”
You know, no one tells us what to do, and there’s no literature on this. Furthermore, the negative portrayal of stepmothers in the media “casts us in an evil, villainous light,” the speaker went on. Thus, it’s similar to attempting to avoid land mines. After that, you’ll be joining a lively family. Additionally, there’s a lot of anxiety around losing someone and wondering what they mean.”
Paltrow continued, “But for myself, the easier it got the moment I chose to truly embrace the idea that my step kids were my kids and that I love them just as much, set the same rules and boundaries for them, and just kind of went for it. And now it’s very fantastic.”
The Iron Man actress talked about her experiences throughout her children’s first trimester in other Q&A sections.
She said, “I wish more people had explained to me how difficult it can be.” Many people in my life told me that I felt fantastic about being pregnant, but I felt awful. The best part is that it is worthwhile. I can’t even begin to express how worthwhile it is.
