Former President John Dramani Mahama said that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) plans to find university graduates and qualified people who can do math correctly to serve as party agents in the 2024 general elections.
On Friday, March 3, 2019, as part of his campaign to be elected flagbearer for the NDC in the general elections in 2024, Mr. Mahama told delegates of the party in Ketu North that agents are not going to be selected based on who joined the party first or who has served the longest.
This was said as part of Mr. Mahama’s campaign to be elected flagbearer for the NDC.
According to what he said, it all comes down to who is good with numbers and can perform accurate calculations.
“I want to move on to the next point, which is about polling agents. It is not appropriate for us to select polling agents based on the order in which people arrived at the party. It ought to be someone who is capable of carrying out the task on our behalf.
“The election we are having today is not the same kind of election we were having in the past. If you can’t do math, you are no use to us in the polling station because you should be able to look at the figures and make sure that the figures match exactly what was counted in the ballot box.
If you can’t do math, you are no use to us in the polling station because you should be able to look at the figures and make sure that they are exactly what was counted in the ballot box.
You should be able to check that the number of ballot papers in the ballot box corresponds to the number that is displayed on the biometric machine. To do this, compare the numbers on the biometric machine and the ballot box.
“If you are a chairman and you can’t work arithmetic or be an executive and you can’t qualify to be a polling agent and you have children who are in university or who are in training colleges, bring them and let us train them, and on that day let them go and sit there for us and do the job so that we can win the election,” the candidate said.

Mahama also told the delegates how important it was to stay alert so that they could win the general elections in 2024.
Mahama went on to say that Ghanaians are patiently waiting for the NDC to take power.
Mahama stated that “we dare not fail them” in his statement.
“NDC will win the general election of 2024 if you are very vigilant; we need 1005 per vigilance,” he went on to indicate further.
On Thursday, March 2, Mr. Mahama kicked off his campaign in Ho, Volta Region, to compete in the internal elections of the largest opposition party. Ho is located in the Volta Region.
The candidate for president of the NDC in the year 2020 made a number of statements, one of which was as follows: “We will strictly enforce prudence and responsibility in the management of public finances by cutting out waste and ostentation, which have become commonplace under this administration.”
“Together, we will create the Ghana that we have always envisioned. We will work to restore faith in our nearly defunct monetary and financial systems, and we will get started on sweeping reforms at the Bank of Ghana.
“We shall actively pursue policies to ensure robust local participation in our banking, financial, telecommunications, mining, agriculture, and agribusiness sectors,” as well as our manufacturing industries.
According to Mr. Mahama, “this will be anchored on our plan to grow the economy and create sustainable employment opportunities for our youth.”
