John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress’s 2024 flagbearer, has instructed all NDC supporters to dedicate their entire day to overseeing the voting process on December 7.
As part of his listening trip, the former President meets with party supporters in La Dadekopon. He emphasizes that an active campaign cannot be carried out without the need to protect the ballot.
The NDC campaign team escorted the former president to the constituency, where they were greeted by a raucous group of party members eager for change.
When John Mahama was elected on December 7, he visited the constituency to hear the people’s issues and incorporate them into the party platform.
The engagement was also to rally support for the party ahead of the December 7 general elections.
The entourage first paid a courtesy call on the traditional authorities of the La Traditional Council after which the flagbearer engaged with the party supporters.
Taking his turn to address them, John Mahama charged the supporters to sacrifice 48 hours of their time to police the ballot in the election to ensure the victory of the party.
“Very soon the elections will be here, and we must all be vigilant at the polls,” he stated.
He insisted that “when the party embarked on the rigorous campaign but failed to police the ballot on the election day, then our efforts will be meaningless”.
Mr Mahama added “We will not forget about you when you police the ballots. Your reward will surely come when we win power in 2025,” JM assured his followers.
The National Democratic Congress has meanwhile scheduled July 2024 to launch its nationwide campaign ahead of the general polls.
