Some of the people who work as caterers for the School Feeding Programme in Kumasi, which is located in the Ashanti Region, have claimed that they are concerned about losing their job in the event that the New Patriotic Party is voted out of office.

In an interview that took place on Wednesday on the Citi Breakfast Show, Dorothy Ofori-Sarpong, who works as a caterer in the region and delivers meals for school students attending basic schools in the area, stated that all caterers in the area are genuine members of the NPP.

If she is to be believed, there is absolutely no chance that they would be kept on if the National Democratic Congress is victorious in the elections of 2024.

Dorothy went on to say that it is common knowledge that all active caterers are required to be members of the NPP.

Dorothy Ofori-Sarpong, making a point for caterers in the region to be paid arrears that are owed to them, stated that caterers in the region have made sacrifices for a long time and that it is time for the government to pay attention to their predicament.

Ofori-Sarpong told the host Bernard Avle, that all of them are members of the NPP and that they are aware that if the NDC is elected to power, all of them will lose their employment.

Dorothy also criticized the Ashanti Regional Minister for showing them contempt when they surrounded his office to demand payment for their outstanding debts. She said that the minister should have treated them with more courtesy.

Dorothy admitted that they had not been paid for three school terms and that the caterers had nearly depleted their financial resources as a result.

The caterers who are demanding that the government pay them their arrears and also increase the amount, voiced their dissatisfaction with the manner in which the Regional Minister met them. They want the government to pay them their arrears and also increase the amount.

On the other hand, the Minister for the Ashanti Region, Simon Osei Mensah, has provided an explanation for why he exploded in anger at caterers working for the government’s school feeding program in the Ashanti Region on Monday, April 3, when they presented a petition to him. The caterers had asked him to look into the matter.
