Sad scenes from vigil of two girls killed in East Legon accident

On Friday, October 18, a memorial was organized in memory of Maame Dwomoh and Justine Agbenu, two girls who perished in a horrific fire at East Legon.

Both of the 12-year-old girls attended Cornerstone International Academy.

The poignant ceremony was held at the scene of the accident.

Candlelight, prayers, and sincere remembrances from loved ones and neighbors were used to commemorate it.

While photo frames of the couple were on display, mourners who were unable to contain their tears watched silent reflections while holding candles and flowers.

Citi FM, based in Accra, posted footage from the ceremony on X.

Bishop Salifu Amoako’s son, 16-year-old Elrad Salifu Amoako, lost control of a Jaguar SUV (GN 7801-20) and collided with a 4×4 Acura car (GR 2542-23), which was being driven by Joseph Ackah.

Both cars caught fire as a result of the incident, and the Acura’s passengers were severely burned.

Following the event, Bishop Salifu and his spouse, Mouha Amoako, were taken into custody and appeared before an Accra High Court, but they were released on bail.

“Permitting an unlicensed person to drive” is the charge against the parents and a woman named Linda Bonsu Bempah.

In addition, the man of God prayed for God to strengthen the victims’ families in an emotional social media video on Friday, pleading with them for forgiveness.
