On Friday, March 21, two suspected thieves were apprehended during an early morning fire outbreak in Adum, Kumasi’s central commercial center, as they attempted to steal from stores devastated by the inferno.

The fire started in the two-storey buildings containing various shops and swiftly spread throughout the area, causing major damage.

The fire at the popular Blue Light venue, near Hello FM, began at 6 a.m. and spread quickly as firefighters struggled to contain it.

As firefighters battled the fire, some others took advantage of the turmoil, attempting to steal expensive things from the damaged establishments.

Security officers, including police and firefighters, were quickly dispatched to the site to prevent additional looting and restore order.

Security officials are cautious as the location remains a focal point of activity, and attempts to prevent further incidents and ensure public safety continue.
