The NDC Victory Concert organisers have pulled Stonebwoy from the lineup in response to grassroots objections.
Stonebwoy, a well-known reggae/dancehall performer, has been withdrawn from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Victory Concert, which is set to take place on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
This move comes after substantial criticism from the party’s grassroots and youth followers.
On Friday, January 3, 2025, Stonebwoy was announced as a performer for the event. However, soon after the announcement, the hashtag #DropStonebwoy started trending on social media, with several party members voicing their discontent with his inclusion.
In response to rising pressure, the concert organizers published a statement confirming the departure of the TGMA reigning Artiste of the Year from the event.
They cited grassroots concerns as the key reason for their decision, and apologized to Stonebwoy and his staff for the outcome.
The NDC Victory Concert will take place on the forecourt of the Legon Stadium to commemorate the party’s historic victory in the recently concluded general elections.
