The Black Stars coach and his technical team have named the squard list for the upcoming friendly matches. The list features only one local player and a few new debutants who made nationality switches.
The Black Stars will face Brazil, Nicaragua, and Switzerland in preparation for the tournament in Qatar later this year.The match against Brazil will be a tough test for Ghana as they prepare to face Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
Afriyie Barnieh of Hearts of Oak is the only local player in the squard. Among the new debutants are Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu, who refused to play for Ghana some months back.
Other new players include Brighton and Hove wing back Tariq Lamptey, who made a nationality switch from England. Another player who made a nationality switch in the squard is Athletic Bilbao’s striker Inaki Williams.
There is no room for Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad in the squad, who many have touted to be in contention for a call-up to the senior national team following his exploits in the CHAN qualifiers. Check the list below.
