Fans of dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, commonly known as Shatta Wale, gathered at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Thursday to demand his release after being arrested for alleged tax compliance violations.
The musician has been granted bail of GH₵10 million with two reasonable sureties, pending completion of all legal procedures, according to EOCO authorities.
Shatta Wale’s media manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah (aka Sammy Flex), said in a social media video that the musician’s legal team and management are working hard to meet the bond criteria.
He also warned against falsification, noting that the EOCO probe is primarily focused on taxes on Shatta Wale’s yellow Lamborghini and aspects of his commercial activity, not other charges that have surfaced online.
Shatta Wale was caught on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, as part of the EOCO’s bigger investigation into costly autos and tax concerns.
