Sefwi Wiawso MP expresses heartfelt gratitude to constituents

The whole Western North Region, the people of Sefwi Wiawso, and all Ghanaians are to be deeply appreciated for their unshakable support and solidarity amid the recent problems, says Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso.

The thank-you note comes after a heated exchange on Monday, July 22, during which Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin found Dr. Afriyie, who was representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to be in contempt of court.

Dr. Afriyie was expelled from the House after the Speaker decided that certain of his remarks were offensive. Some NPP members in the Sefwi-Wiawso constituency protested this action, voicing their displeasure with the Speaker’s choice.

Dr. Afriyie characterized the backing from his constituents in an official statement released by his office as “truly inspiring” and emphasized that the solidarity shown reflects a deep bond of trust and mutual respect.

“The overwhelming support shown by the constituents has been truly inspiring. The solidarity displayed with Dr. Kwaku Afriyie reflects a bond of trust and mutual respect between him and the valued residents he serves. We deeply value the combined efforts made within this span of time.”

Dr. Afriyie reaffirmed his dedication to carrying out his responsibilities with honesty and always advocating for what’s best for the people of Sefwi Wiawso

He plans to personally connect with constituents in the coming days to offer further thanks and provide clarity on the incident that occurred.

Dr. Kwaku Afriyie concluded his statement by expressing appreciation to the constituents, chiefs, loyal party supporters, and journalists for their steadfast support and commitment.
