The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has planned a scheduled repair exercise for Thursday, July 17, 2025, affecting sections of the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, and Volta Regions.
The exercise, aimed at enhancing electricity dependability and service delivery, will cause brief power outages in numerous areas between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Odorkor, Awoshie, Gbawe, Asofan, Seven Days, Manet Estate, Mantey Tsuru, Dodowa, Cantonments, Ghana International School (GIS), Oshieyie, Kokrobite, Bortianor, Red Top, Weija Old Barrier, SCC, Ayigbe Town, Tuba Township, Langba, Sackey, Fulani, GBC Top, Mama Africa, Blackee, Iron City, Tukuse, and surrounding communities are among those affected in the Greater Accra Region.
The Ashanti Region will also experience power interruptions in areas such as Barekese Headworks, Kronum, Cemel, Amoaman, Nketia, Asuofua, CONSAR Quarry, Adankwame, Adugama, Naachia Quarry, Barekese Town, Abira, Offinso, Namong, Kayera, Tutuase, Nsuotam, Kyerekrom, Boamang, Tetrem, Habitat, Ahenkro, Kwamang, Kodie, Akrofrom, Aduman, Aduamoah, Denase, Pampatia, and the KCG Company enclave.
According to the ECG, inhabitants in Tokokoe, Tanyigbe, and the 66 Artillery Training Centre and its neighbouring areas will be affected.
Meanwhile, in the Central Region, localities such as Tuba Township, Langba, Mama Africa, Blackee, Iron City, and Tokuse may face power outages during planned hours.
The ECG regretted for any inconvenience this exercise may create and informed the public that the maintenance is part of its larger efforts to improve power service delivery and reduce future disruptions.
“We regret the inconvenience that will result from this exercise,” the power distributor wrote in its regional notifications.
Residents in affected regions are asked to exercise caution and consider all electrical appliances as live throughout the maintenance time.
