Sam George, the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, has reacted to stolen money of Cecilia Dapaa the sanitation minister.
Cecilia Dapaah’s decision to take the theft case all the way to court, as the lawmaker explains it, does not give her the right to claim ownership of the substantial sum of money.
In order to verify the legitimacy of the funds, the minister is required to reveal “the earnings on the inheritance and the appropriate tax paid on it,” as the official previously stated.
Sam George stated on the Saturday edition of JoyNews’ Newsfile that, “given the resume of the Minister that you have read to us, there’s no reference to her in private practise to earn that kind of money.”
Sam George hypothesises that “sheer arrogance of power” must have played a role in the decision of the Minister to pursue the matter in court.
After it came to light that she is in court with her two housemaids, whom she accuses of stealing various sums of money, Sanitation Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah has been generating headlines across a variety of media channels, including television, radio, and print publications.

On the same episode, the Acting Executive Director of the Ghana Integrity Initiative, Mary Awelana Addah, stated that President Akufo-Addo should fire the troubled Minister in order to repair his own image after being labelled as a “clearing agent.” Addah made her remarks during the programme.
According to Madam Addah, the president ought to make the most of this chance to dispel the notion that the role of the presidency is that of a “clearing agent” in the eyes of the general public.
While this is going on, the Minister of Sanitation has addressed the allegations that she took money from her residence in Abelemkpe.
Cecilia Dapaa pointed out in a press release dated July 21, 2023, that media stories concerning the stolen $1 million, €300,000, and an amount of Ghana cedis are contradictory with the initial complaint that she filed, and she said that the inconsistency can be found in the media reports.
“With reference to publications with a date of July 21, 2023, it has been suggested that I am the rightful owner of one million dollars, 300,000 euros, and millions of cedis, all of which were taken from my home.
A part of the statement included the observation that “there are noticeable inconsistencies between what is being discussed in the public domain and the thrust of the original complaint on the matter.”
She is reportedly “taking steps to examine the origins of the inconsistencies and will provide a detailed response in the coming days.” The statement was made by the Minister.
