Sam George meets DStv today over subscription price reduction

Sam George

As the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Sam George, is ready to hold a critical meeting with the service provider’s South African and Ghanaian teams regarding subscription pricing, DSTV subscribers in Ghana might soon see a decrease in their monthly costs.

The Minister is adamant that DSTV’s prices should be in line with the state of the economy, and he has called the next talks essential to enacting price changes that benefit customers.

According to Sam George, the action is a component of the government’s larger effort to guarantee equity in the cost of digital services in light of persistent worries about household financial pressures.

“To safeguard the state’s inhabitants, we shall employ the state’s authority. I am adamant that unless a price drop is agreed upon, the meeting will not finish.

“I’ve witnessed the South African management’s attempt to suggest that you should be upgraded to the following plan when you purchase one. Although we are appreciative, we do not desire that. The minister made the statement, “We want a price reduction,” at a press conference on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
