Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng arrested by NIB

Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, also known as Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, has been held by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) as part of an ongoing inquiry into claims of numerous identities.

The scandal surrounding Rev. Kusi Boateng began in 2023, when North Tongu MP and current Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa claimed in an exposé that the Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral owned numerous passports under different names.

“From unassailable and irreproachable documents in my possession, Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng, AKA Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, uses multiple passports and multiple identification cards with different names and different dates of birth as his special modus operandi,” Ablakwa wrote on his Facebook account.

Ablakwa also stated that JNS Talent Centre Ltd, owned by Rev. Kusi Boateng, received GH¢2.6 million for the National Cathedral project under the pseudonym Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

According to him, documentation in his hands proved that Kwabena Adu Gyamfi and Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng were the same person. Despite the charges, Boateng remains an Executive Council Member/Director of the National Cathedral Board.

On July 13, 2024, the Human Rights Court dismissed Rev. Kusi Boateng’s attempt to ban MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa from making public statements concerning his role in the National Cathedral problems.

While the particular allegations against him are unknown, sources indicate that the investigation is centred on his supposed dual identity.
