Parliament has announced that registration for Members of Parliament-elect for the 9th Parliament of the Fourth Republic begins today, December 25, 2024.
A statement made on December 24 suggested that the registration procedure would begin with an online exercise, followed by physical registration from January 2 to January 6, 2025.
“Targeted invitation messages will be delivered to elected members via WhatsApp or email. Physical registration will begin on Thursday, January 2, 2025, and end on January 6, 2025.
“Members who may need further clarifications or assistance may contact the officers in charge of the registration exercise on telephone number 055 022 2200 or 0503634466,” the statement’s headline read.
It further stated: “Honorable members will be conveyed by bus from the premises of Parliament to the Independence Square at 8 am prompt.”
The Parliamentary Service has also issued dates and schedules for events relating to the dissolution of the current 8th Parliament and the inauguration of the new 9th Parliament:

- Transport: Honorable Members will be transported by bus from Parliament to Independence Square at 8:00 a.m.
