The balloting of presidential candidates for the 2024 December polls will take place today, Friday, September 20, 2024, at 4 PM at the Headquarters of the Electoral Commission.
This method largely determines the sequence of names on the ballot paper.
The balloting follows the EC’s publication of the list of eligible applicants for the 2024 polls. Thirteen of the twenty-four presidential contenders have been cleared to compete.
Among the eligible prospects are John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party, John Alan Kojo Kyeramaten, and Nana Kwame Bediako.
Meanwhile, not all candidates were lucky enough to be cut; those disqualified from running for the election were Janet Nabla of the People’s National Party (PNP) and Bernard Mornah of the People’s National Convention (PNC).
Among other disqualified candidates are James Kwesi Oppong, Paul Perkoh, and Nana Stephens Adjepong.
