Paris 2024: Joselle Mensah exits with 4th place finish in Women’s 50m Freestyle

Joselle Mensah of Ghana is eliminated from the swimming competition after placing fourth in Heat 5’s Women’s 50m Freestyle.

Having qualified via the wild card entry, Joselle was competing in her first-ever global showpiece. Her timing of 26.81 seconds did not place her among the top 16.

With her performance of 26.52 seconds at the 13th African Games, she qualified for the Olympics.

The 20-year-old is the third athlete from Ghana to compete at the Olympics after Rose Yeboah’s elimination in the high jump on Friday. The other swimmer eliminated was Harry Stacey.

There are five more competitors left for the track and field 100-meter and 4×100-meter events.
