Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, chairman of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) committee, has said that the team has discovered incriminating evidence revealing state capture during the previous administration.

According to Ablakwa, a report describing this information, which will shortly be delivered to President John Dramani Mahama, will shock Ghanaians.

It should be noted that on December 18, 2024, prior to his official inauguration, President Mahama appointed a five-member committee to oversee preparations for the implementation of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) throughout his tenure.

The committee, directed by North Tongu MP Ablakwa, was entrusted with gathering information from the public and other sources on alleged corruption cases in advance of ORAL’s launch. The team also included former Auditor-General Mr Daniel Domelevo, COP (Retd.) Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, private legal practitioner Mr Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Mr Raymond Archer.

Ablakwa told journalists in the Eastern Region that the team had done substantial effort, aided by anonymous information, to guarantee justice was delivered.

He stated:

We shall not reveal the nature of our successes until we have delivered our report to His Excellency the President. When we give our report, the Ghanaian people will see how much effort has been done—the scale of the loot and how we have all worked together successfully to ensure that the evidence is coordinated for action by our Attorney General and other institutions.

Meanwhile, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin and other members of the public have questioned the ORAL committee’s mandate.

He claimed that the committee is superfluous and is being used to further a personal vendetta against former government appointees.
