Accra Hearts of Oak and Karela United’s victories sent Olympics to Access Division One Zone 3 for the 2024–2025 season.
Due to Real Tamale United’s already-relegated status, they were unable to honor the league’s last game, which allowed Olympics to win via forfeiture with three goals and three points.
Olympics’ fragile situation, however, meant that they needed losses from other teams in danger of relegation, such as Accra Hearts of Oak and Karela United, in order to secure their place in Ghana’s top division.
Following their 1-0 victory over league leaders FC Samartex 1996, Karela United defeated Medeama SC 1-0 in Tarkwa, while Heart of Lions drew 2-2 at the Golden City Park in Berekum.
Hearts on the other hand, beat Bechem United in Bechem 3-2.
Defender Ebenezer Abban stepped up to sweep home the late penalty kick awarded to Heart of Lions in the 92nd minute to register his brace after scoring in the 56th minute.
Berekum Chelsea Forward Stephen Amankonah scored twice in the game to emerge as the winner of the GPL Top Goalscorer for the season.
